Red lipstick

Julien David winter 2012
There is one thing I could talk and write about for days. Red lipstick. I believe there is no other thing that can instantly change the way you look, like the red lipstick can. Yes, it makes you feel more pretty, more feminine and even more powerful if you are headed to some important meeting. The first and the most important thing is to find the right shade and trust me, that's not so complicated as we like to imagine.

First you need to discover are you warm tone girl or a cold tone girl and the easiest way to do it is to look at the color of your hand veins. If they are more bluish you are cold tone and if they are more green you are warm tone girl. The other trick you can use is to put silver or gold color watch on your wrist. If you are cold tone, your skin will look brighter and healthier with the silver watch, if you are warm tone girl you are gonna look that way with the golden watch.

Once you did this it, it can also help you to choose your wardrobe better, but let's go back to the lipstick! So, basically if you are cold tone girl you should choose a red lipstick with blue undertone in it and if you are warm tone girl you should buy yourself a red lipstick with some orange in it. Also, remember, there are neutral reds on the market and one of them is absolutely a bestseller and my favorite lipstick - Ruby Woo from MAC. So if you still are not sure about your skin tone or the right shade of lipstick, with this one, it can't go wrong. Trust me.

Besides my No.1 Ruby Woo, here are my top 5 reds:

1. Russian Red - MAC (blue undertone) - Diane Kruger was wearing it in Inglorious Bastards
2. Cherries in the snow - Revlon (blue undertone) - Brightens up your face in a second
3. Lady Danger - MAC (orange undertone) - Perfect summer shade
4. Fire & Ice - Revlon (blue/pink undertone) - Classic, makes you feel like a true hollywood star
5. Gabrielle Rouge Coco - Chanel (neutral undertone) - It's very moistruizing and it's Chanel!

ps try not to wear it when you are about to meet your boyfriend's mother or grandmother. I don't know why, but seems to me that every single one of them has a little queen Victoria in them (you know, the one that forbidded woman to wear red lipstick so they don't decieve men with their false beauty)
