Lip balms

Lip balms

I do not know about you, but I'm definitely addicted to lip balm. We girls know that the purpose of lip balm is to protect our delicate lips from external influences such as the sun and wind. We also know that lip balm is our savior number one savior when our lips are already "cracked".

First Lip balm

Lip balm first appeared on the market back in 1880. It was Chapstick, invented and launched by american Charles Brown Fleet.  Composition of lip balm from then until now, hasn't changed much, and is based primarily on beeswax or petroleum.Although the first lip balm Chapstick is still very popular, our market today, unlike back in 1880 offers a much broader range. Almost every serious cosmetic house offers us their version of lip balm, but the most popular among the balsams are still Smith's Rosebud Salve, Blistex, Burt's Bees, Carmex, Khiel's, Lip Smacker, Vaseline and Nivea's  Labello.

They attract us with their magical scents, low prices and attractive packaging, and give our lips natural moisture, care and necessary vitamins. My TOP five favorites are:

      1.       Smith's Rosebud Salve – beautiful scent and retro chic
      2.       Nuxe lip balm – mat texture and very moistruizing
      3.    Maybelline - Baby Lips (new bestseller and every beauty blogger has one)
      4.       Labello – has cult status and absolutely deserves one
      5.       EOS – the coolest package ever

ps my little secret is Homeoplasmine (healing lip balm from French pharmacies), which apply in the evening before going to sleep and in the morning you wake up with the softest lips ever! Packaging is a very modest and price for the quantity is more than affordable, and it is always on my top 5 list of beauty products!
